You could use a drill press for steadiness. I found that I could simply hold the cone steady in one hand and twist the chisel in the other. Unless the chisel is in bad shape, it doesn't take more than a few seconds with each cone to get a good edge. You can also run the outside surfaces on a flat, fine grit sharpening stone. Again, just a few strokes and then shine with the finest stone or sandpaper (1000+ grit) that you have. I use a dry lubricant on the outside surfaces as needed. **Q: I received two of the #220 grit, but no 600 grit! Isn't this supposed to be a set?** A: It does appear that there should have been a 220 grit and a 600 grit in the set. Call Amazon, they will make it right. **Q: Do these work with Jet Brand hollow chisels?** A: I don't know why it would not work. The working edges of the chisel and sharpener are both circular.
