Review: Beautiful Djembe - This is the first real djembe drum I have owned. I love it. I played it outdoors with others for the first time today and it sounded great! The drum gave me a great feeling, that I had chosen wisely, and that I was playing a musical instrument that has been hand crafted with care. I expected it to arrive in need of a lot of tuning, but was happily surprised to find that it was already tuned and ready to play. The skin feels like skin, the wood is heavy, but not too much for this lightweight girl, and it is from a tree, that's for sure. The carving is simple but beautiful and very well done. I get the vibe that this drum will take me to wonderful drumming places. I feel very lucky to own it and be able to play it. Review: Very good quality - Nice sound and weight- UPDATE- after a year of ownership- this drum has stained my floor in ever place it was set down! I now have three brown yellow rings on various parts of my floor! Wtf! ## Features - After import from Africa, each instrument is cleaned, inspected, tuned, and played individually to check sound and quality. - Excellent sound quality from solid handcarved wood shell and natural West African goat skin. - Warm, full bass sound, strong open tones, and clean, crisp, high slaps - right out of the box. - Hand crafted in Africa by village cultural artisans supported by the non-profit Africa Heartwood Project . - Available in a variety of base carving designs, so be sure to make the correct selection from images. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B07J2SP2V2 | | Best Sellers Rank | #124,852 in Musical Instruments ( See Top 100 in Musical Instruments ) #183 in Djembes | | Body Material | Wood | | Brand | Africa Heartwood Project | | Brand Name | Africa Heartwood Project | | Color | Village Carving | | Customer Reviews | 4.3 out of 5 stars 30 Reviews | | Included Components | djembe drum | | Item Dimensions | 13 x 13 x 24 inches | | Item dimensions L x W x H | 13 x 13 x 24 inches | | Manufacturer | Africa Heartwood Project .org | | Material | Mansonia wood | | Model Name | Classical Heartwood Djembe Drum - Large 13"x24" | | Model Number | CD13- | | Number of Items | 1 | | Part Number | CD13- | | UPC | 680912033107 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Images ![Hand-carved Djembe Drum From Africa - 13"x24" Classic Ghana Djembe (Village Carving) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/714-mUAzEHL.jpg) ![Hand-carved Djembe Drum From Africa - 13"x24" Classic Ghana Djembe (Village Carving) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71YsdFJ6FzL.jpg) ![Hand-carved Djembe Drum From Africa - 13"x24" Classic Ghana Djembe (Village Carving) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61-POmP2cML.jpg) ![Hand-carved Djembe Drum From Africa - 13"x24" Classic Ghana Djembe (Village Carving) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51f34qd-CkL.jpg) ![Hand-carved Djembe Drum From Africa - 13"x24" Classic Ghana Djembe (Village Carving) - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71Ngbh24jqL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful Djembe *by C***S on June 5, 2021* This is the first real djembe drum I have owned.
