The Makita 18V X2 LXT (36V) Brushless 1-1/8” AVT rotary hammer is a cordless concrete solution that’s loaded with advanced engineering for maximum efficiency. It’S powered by two 18V LXT batteries (sold separately) and an efficient Brushless motor for maximum power, speed and run-time for corded demands, without the cord. X2 LXT technology delivers up to 140 ½” x 2-3/8” holes per charge when using two 18V LXT 5.0Ah batteries. For reduced vibration, it’s equipped with Anti-Vibration technology (AVT). more than just a padded handle, AVT is an internal counterbalance that uses air pressure to move counterweight Pistons in the opposite direction of the drive piston to actively reduce vibration. In addition, the vibration-absorbing back handle and side handle further reduce vibration. The result is a low vibration rating of only 9M/s², but with No compromise in performance: the efficient Brushless motor delivers a full 2.3 ft. Lbs. Of impact energy, with 250-980 RPM and 0-5, 000 BPM. The torque limiting clutch is engineered to prevent gear damage by automatically disengaging the gears if the bit binds, and Constant speed control automatically adds power to the motor to maintain speed under load to complete the most demanding jobs. Additional performance features include a Electric brake, variable speed dial, built-in L.E.D. Light, and a retractable tool hook. For added durability in harsh job site conditions, extreme protection technology (XPT) is engineered for improved dust and water resistance. ## Questions & Answers

**Q: Can i drill 1” diameter in to concrete?? I need to anchor rebar**
A: I don't know as I've only drilled 1/2" and 3/4" holes, but think that it should as it drills concrete like butter (when using a good bit).  Everyone who sees me use this drill for concrete has been impressed, with one person buying one after seeing mine.

**Q: What country is makita xrh08z made in?**
A: China .   As are most all makita tools now(sadly). They were much better when made in Japan .  Still great tools .  Just not as good as they used to be.

**Q: does this come with the case?**
A: Depends on which one you buy. The bare tool comes with no case. Ensure in the description it says with a case, otherwise it might not come with one.

**Q: What size of hex is it for the drill bit**
A: The short answer is SDSplus. It’s not rated as a standard socket. EG 10mm or 3/4 inch per say. 
There are four standard sizes of SDS: SDS Quick, SDS-plus (or SDSplus or SDS+), SDS-Top and SDS-max.

This unit is SDSplus. 

Physically there are size differences in the masonry bits. SDS Plus have a 10mm shank, while the SDS Max has an 18mm. This means that SDS Max bits have an increased capability for tougher masonry work, withstanding more torque and force.
