Review: SMT HIGH-HEAT PROTECTIVE SOLDERING TAPE - I saw this 1/2" wide teflon heat protection tape being used in SMT high heat soldering rework on TikTok and was looking for same type tape instead if Kapton heat tape for my job as rework specialist. This stuff is FANTASTIC protection for plastics and heat sensitive SMT components. Cover the area you need to protect, it's super thick to use with 700°- 800°F hot air gun or 450° C lead free soldering iron tips, etc. Provides a lift or "ledge" on the PCB to lay a soldering iron tip atop to get solder under small plastic bodied connectors or tiny tight fittkng electronic devices to reach leds. It's the same exact type of heat tape used on on heat pressure bag sealers or seal a meal sealers. It's not super sticky so it won't leave any gummy residues to clean up after soldering with high heat soldering irons. Love this stuff, have shared with several of my coworkers they love it too!! Does it come in 1/4" size???? Love I t will keep it in my high heat soldering arsenal toolbox!!
