Smaller shackle seemingly makes it more difficult for bolt cutters to work. Lock is heavier than a Brinks lock I also own which is a strong point. I purchased the lock because it received better reviews on the Internet than Masterlock or Brinks locks. Also, lock picking lawyer had difficulty opening this lock so that settled my decision to buy this item.
