I was worried because most babies like to put things in their mouths but he hasn't done that with these cars. He's always had a fascination with cars and most anything with wheels. I did not take out all of the cars--just half. Sometimes he'll line up the cars, other times he will gather all the cars and then start tossing them one by one and keep just two or three to play with. The cars have held up so far--color is still vibrant and the wheels are all intact. If you have little ones that always puts things to their mouth, this is not the toy for them.
