It definitely is cooler than a standard blanket Yes it will warm up a little bit due to your own body heat but any part that isn't in contact with you feels like when you flip your pillow over to the cool side. I especially love that I can poke a foot out the bottom and touch the outside of the blanket for a nice cool feeling.2) I ordered the 15 lb version and it is noticeably heavy without being overwhelming. I have had it for less than a week now but even the first night I noticed a difference in my sleep. It took a little getting used to in how I would position myself and other sheets/blankets (in the end I am opting for no other blanket since I'm in southern CA and even "winter" here isn't cold). I'm normally a tosser/turner but this has drastically cut down on that. Last night I slept from 4 am - 8 am without flipping at all!3) My only real complaint is the weight distribution. I would have liked the beads or sand or whatever is inside to be partitioned better. Maybe individual pockets? As it is now, if I moved the blanket around too much before settling, the weight can shift all the way to one side or the bottom and it's a little frustrating getting it back into the right position.4) Definitely not the size for sharing (not that I want to). It is sized for one person only to use.Overall: 4/5 Stars. My main concern was dealing with night sweats and this weighted blanket. The cooling blanket is noticeably cool to the touch for a length of time but struggling with night hot flashes, it’s difficult to get comfortable and regulate body temperature with a fifteen pound blanket. I would recommend this blanket to someone with a sleep disorder other than a menopausal woman. It was beautiful and comfortable.
