As much as I love the tones from my analogue pedals, I wanted a compact all in one plug and go option for when the notion took me. The Cerberus seemed to fit the bill with physical knobs, no endless menus etc. It is a compact, solid, well made piece of kit - it isn’t as straight forward as I expected however once you have read over the fairly short instructions it’s easy enough to get up and running, however be prepared to take some time to get the most out of it. The overdrive and distortions are analogue, some of the other effects might be as well. Settings are saved digitally to store parameters. It can be connected to a computer, it therefore has mixture of the good aspects of old and new technology that make for a very usable device. Overall I like this pedal, I love you can route effects in different ways using mini toggle switches. Patches can be saved relatively easily - the presets won’t wow you like many multi effects pedals initially do, but they give a good basis for making your own tones. If your amp has an effects loop, the best sounds from this pedal are got by using the four cable method. I also love the foot switchable boost, which is clean, transparent and warms things up nicely - the level knob however is tiny and on the back panel, I leave it on most of the time but it can be used to kick in a solo if you assign it to the control footswitch. I’m not a huge fan of the od/dist tones, but that’s because I like valve overdrive sounds from expensive amps! - they are however very tweakable and you can get some decent and usable tones from them. The unit did needed a period of burning in and some twiddling before sounding it’s best so be patient. In summary a it’s a solid Swiss Army knife, no froth but with lots of clever and useful features that make for a likeable multi effects pedal, it’s not perfect (what is) but it’s certainly worth considering. Thanks.** A: You can get them from £9.99 pretty much anywhere… but I’d recommend going to a music shop and get a solid, properly filtered and isolated one.. and add a 5 way chain extension to power other pedals u can used with it. You need a 9v centre negative adaptor.. at least 500ma.2.1/.2.2mm But get a 1000m/a coz Other pedals will run from 10ma to 100ma do you can add 4 others on same adaptor.
