**Q: does this tape have an abrasive surface**
A: yes and it is very sticky so make sure your surface is properly prepared before you apply. We drew lines where we wanted it so we got it on straight.

**Q: Does this have an adhesive backing?**
A: Yes it has an adhesive backing. I put this down on my mother's ramp and it worked well just make sure it is warm and you rough up the area with sand paper first.

**Q: Has anyone tried it on a metal roof?**
A: doing it now on classic ribbed galvalume
there are some spots it is not ok to walk on the roof
I am using this stuff to mark all the places that are safe and when it rains or even dews just a little, it is slippery af. same with dust from cutting masonry. death slide
this stuff sticks really well almost a year on one spot no signs of wear
my skateboard shoes feel like velcro on it when I go up there now

Very tough product, easy to install if your PREPARE the steps as instructed and make sure things are clean! I marked and cut the pieces before I began so I had things ready, along with my pie roller (since I did not have a rubber one) and a rubber mallet. If you roll back and forth and pound it well with the mallet, it will not come off. I have some on other steps for two years and they are still in place. It rains a LOT where I live and the wooden steps get quite slippery for people and dogs in the winter. I love these strips as they save a LOT of falls I am sure!
