Tried using ground loop isolators, ground lifts you name it and still had bad noise coming out the monitors.Wound up deciding to grab this and 2 in 1 out Optical / SPDIF splitter and see if switching to an optical signal would remove the noise. It worked perfectly and the biggest bonus was that I can still control the volume of the system by using the remote that comes with the DAC.If you have a similar set up with issues like mine, try this out.Update to review 1/7/2021:Wound up losing some satisfaction with this product due to audio quality and the volume control system being pretty subpar. It worked great for a $20 DAC and proved out my theory about the ground loop in my set up. However, the volume controller was hit or miss with working and the actual volume increments were not good. You could change from SUPER LOUD to barely too quiet, but with no in between. Also noticed some buzzing and hissing in the background as well.I wound up replacing this with an SMSL Sanskrit MKII and it was a huge improvement over this DAC. Volume control is much better (can make tons of tiny adjustments) and even the remote is a much higher quality. The Audio quality is also substantially better and the hissing / buzzing is gone now. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well and has a remote *by A***E on December 18, 2018* Easy to set up. Remote works fine but you do need to be directly in front of the unit for the IR to pick it up.No complaints , have had it only for a day. Fast shipping. Have it connected to a Samsung 24" TV with optical audio out going to powered speakers through the aux. Good price.Probably the biggest CON is that the volume level adjustment on the remote is not linear, it jumps from soft to loud, can't get it in between. If they could fix that they would have a 5 star product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Just what I needed! *by C***1 on April 20, 2020* I recently got a big TV for my basement gaming room. It's a Samsung 65" QLED (2018 model) and it doesn't have analog audio outputs, only optical digital output. I had a pair of powered studio monitor speakers and a pair of powered subwoofers that I wanted to use with the TV. I had purchased a cheap, basic optical to analog DAC a few years ago. It worked, but without volume control the speakers always ran at full volume. When using my gaming PC as the source, I could control the PC volume, but when using game consoles there was no easy way to control the volume without adjusting all four powered speakers separately.I bought this because it has a remote control for volume and I'm happy to report that it works great for my use case. I swapped out my old DAC for this one and I can control the volume finally. I agree with some other reviews that the volume control could have more discrete levels, but it's reasonable enough as I really just wanted the ability to not run the speakers at max volume. I mainly use the PC so I can fine-tune the volume with that, but now I can play consoles without the entire house shaking.Audio quality seems to be quite good.
