Needs a good squeeze before you can lock it, but the spring action is very good, no fiddly bits and no fly-away springs. Great value for money as well. Just as it looks in the picture, no unpleasant surprises. In fact, a good surprise addition is a hanging loop which is not given in the picture above.

Over the years I have thrown away several secateurs because they were all designed with a loose spring in the middle that flew off rendering the pair unusable, or the lock kept sliding down during operation, necessitating a lot of fiddling. I did a lot of research before I came across this one. It is very sturdy, has a good heft, and cuts through woody stems like butter!!! I just love taking it out to trim small branches. Needs a good squeeze before you can lock it, but the spring action is very good, no fiddly bits and no fly-away springs. Great value for money as well. Just as it looks in the picture, no unpleasant surprises. In fact, a good surprise addition is a hanging loop which is not given in the picture above.
