The broth base tastes delicate and natural not bullion-y. Noodles are the best in ANY ramen package I have ever eaten. You get the choice of adding spice and/or oil to the mix to suit you personal tastes. These are the ONLY ramen I will buy and eat. I keep regular ramen around for the grandkids since they aren't that particular, but I don't share my Mama ramen with anyone!!! These are the BEST!! I bought this for my mom. She said it tastes just like she remembers from her high school days back in the 70's. The only difference is the size (it used to be a bit larger package), but everything nowadays is smaller in the stores, even gum! She doesn't use the chili packet, but only the seasoning and chicken flavor packet (it used to be chicken fat, but she is not sure if it's the same or they changed the formulation, but it tastes the same). You can use two noodle packets with one seasoning packet to cut down on the sodium (1340 mg per packet), and the saturated fat (6 grams per packet if using the chicken flavor packet). There's 0 trans fat, 0 cholesterol, 33 g total carbs, 2 g fiber, & 5 g protein in each.
