With water just below the desired level install the skimmer by using a sharp object to punch out the screw holes. Once it is installed and right THEN take a razor blade and cut out the square opening. **Q: Will the hose connections fit the intex hoses with the threaded nut? Like with the Intex 56671EG 2,650-Gallon Sand Filter Pump.** A: David, they do not fit. Intex uses odd sizing so you have to be creative. I hard plumbed my skimmer to my sand filter. On the filter side I reused the nut from the Intex hose but on the skimmer side I glued PVC to the skimmer. I know it is hard to visualize. Check out this website there is a ton of info on there.
