The lights flash. **Q: Can you set the decibel to what you want? or is it in increments? if so, what are the increments?** A: The decibels are already programmed so you can't change them to your exact measurements. The decibels increase by increments of 10, starting with 50 the lowest and 110 the highest. **Q: Can I manually select the color that is lit up or will it only light up when the noise level gets too high?** A: Hello. It will only light up when there is noise. It remains on green when the volume is acceptable. Goes to yellow to give the class a warning for a few seconds, then it goes to red and the siren go off when the volume is too loud. However, everyone has their own interpretation on what is "too loud." That is why I love the Yacker Tracker. You can adjust the switch to what volume it is that YOU want the siren to go off to. I know I had to adjust it a little because it would go off if someone sneezed or sharpened a pencil...It's easy to adjust (only a switch on the side of it) and it worked great in my Kindergarten class.
