From the manufacturer About Us Sidney's father was a cabinetmaker and his mother funded the business venture with 50 pounds. During the second world war the first night raid destroyed the original 1932 factory and the business moved to its present location in Cricklewood, London. Ronnie Rustin, Sidney's son, took over the business and ran it until his death in 2008. He drove the growth of Rustins to be one of the good brands in the industry with a focus on wood finishing products, speciality paints and decorating sundries. This paint is much better than a previous brand I had. The finish is lovely when dry and it coats really well. Bit of a strange smell to it. Always needs a really good stir as it separates when not in use. The only issue I had was the lid, it was really ‘bendy’ metal so once taken off and put back a few times it became very warped and I was never able to get a good seal. Had to tape the heck out of the tin every time I finished using it. Other than that, I really liked using it and the finished quality so have also now purchased a tin of the black for my drains.
