My fittings are gold plated **Q: What would be best to polish the blade? Mine got a scratch from cutting a milk jug.** A: It is much better to just leave it alone. You can seriously mess up the blade by polishing it yourself unless you are a trained in the profession. It will cost you around $100 to $200 to get it professionally polished. **Q: Is the steel folded?** A: If you mean like Damascus steel, no. Did find what I needed on another site for original parts. This sword is a good reproduction while not totally accurate. The blade is well done, and clay tempered. Everything is pretty good and great for the price except the ito. The ito is not as tight as I would want and does not alternate but understand at this price point.
