**Q: Where is this knife made/assembled?**
A: KYOKU uses Japanese VG10 steel imported from Japan, with the traditional Japanese Damascus knife manufacturing technology, and then handcrafted in China. VG10 steel production volume is limited due to various factors, however KYOKU's factory has tried the best to satisfy the needs every year so that we can handcraft each and every knife with Japanese made VG10 steel in China.

**Q: What is the best method for sharpening this blade or other damascus blades? Is it better to frequently strple.it against a sharpening rod or?**
A: VG10 steel will not "roll" it's edge like sotfter steel, so a honing rod will do next to nothing.  The only way to sharpen hard steels are to use sharpening stones that are made for high-quality cutlery.  VG10 keeps its edge extremely well so for the home chef you may only need to put it to a stone twice a year.  
    A 1000 grit stone is course enough to remove very small chips from the edge, which are very easy to get with VG10. But to just bring back the razor edge a 5000-8000 grit stone is ideal.

**Q: Does it have "made in china" stamped anywhere on it?**
A: made in China usually means "junk" and supports the Chinese Communist Party. I don't buy anything made in China. Look at Swiss or German made

**Q: can I purchase a sheath for an already owned knife?**
A: It would be cheaper to get the knife dimensions and buy a generic sheath 
I still have the original one  but for a kitchen knife I wouldn’t spend too much on a custom Sheath
