As a result, you can reduce your heating costs during the winter. The film shrinks tightly around your window for a transparent, wrinkle-free fit and is made to reduce condensation and prevent frost build-up.Double-Sided Mounting Tape for a Secure Seal Included with this kit is a 1/2-inch-by-13-4/5-yard roll of 3M window film mounting tape to keep your insulation in place all season long. This double-sided tape seals off cracks and crevices, creates an airtight seal, and establishes a strong bond between the surface, the tape, and the insulation film, as recommended in ENERGY STAR's "Seal and Insulate" guidelines. Featuring a convenient, ready-to-peel liner, the tape adheres easily to a variety of surfaces and stays intact upon removal.Simple, Fast Installation Installing the window insulation is easy. You simply unfold the film and cut it to the width of the window, allowing an extra inch on all sides. Next, you firmly apply the mounting tape around the window frame and remove the paper liner. Then you apply the film to the tape, starting at the top of the window, and reposition and stretch the film to remove wrinkles. Finally, you press the film firmly to the tape and trim any excess film.Made in the United States, and designed for outdoor use only, this insulator kit can be used with aluminum, painted wood, or vinyl-clad surfaces, but it should not be applied to masonry or to roughly sawn or unpainted wood. The film and tape should be removed from the window at the end of the season. The film measures 4 square yards, or 5.16 feet by 7 feet by 0.75 thousandths of an inch (H x W x D), and weighs 0.13 pounds. What's in the Box Window insulation film and one roll of mounting tape. From the Manufacturer Specially developed 3M tape and film system for outdoor use. Clear as glass insulating film installs easily from the outside. Stretches drum tight and wrinkle free. Fights air infiltration and adds an extra pane of insulation, preventing frosty windows. Special weather resistant double stick tape included.

Review: Very Impressive Performance / Resiliance AND Super Simple Removal - Oct 2019: Purchased this product to cover large screens for older, larger condo insulated windows (30" x 50"). Was a little surprised that these were not heat the shrink type that I've used before for interiors. But the product was easy to install (took me about 15 minutes per screen), was easily able to stretch out wrinkles, and no problems unfolding / peeling the plastic open. There was actually enough double sided tape for 3 of my windows, plastic covered two. I've got some larger windows still to do, had to buy one pack for each of those, using the plastic sideways. I did my best to secure the tape to window (pressed around the screen frame with my thumb several times) and similarly the plastic once it was affixed to the tape. If it holds up, should do a good job creating a second vapor barrier and cutting down on drafts. May 2020: Removed the plastic this afternoon. First, all six plastic sheets were intact after a New England winter. Second, plastic removal was beyond simple - the plastic peeled away from the tape easily. The tape needed a little encouragement but by and large came off the aluminum frame in one piece and with no sticky residue. I'm a little shocked at how much of a non-issue removal was. I'm a fan for life!
Review: Great results - I was able to do 2 of my windows and used whatever was left to tape up and cover a third window. I wasn’t sure this was going to work but it is amazing how well this has worked. I no longer feel the cold air coming thru. I’m poor so I can’t afford to be buying fancy windows, but I’m glad I’m poor. I used to work for someone rich that didn’t care about her employees and that’s not how I’d want to be. Better to be poor than to have money and be mean.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it says...
*by J***E on December 30, 2020*

Used rubbing alcohol to clean frame. Its readily available, inexpensive, and it dries fast. Real fast. I used a heat gun for shrinking film (it's what I had handy). Use caution when installing film. It is very thin and easily torn. A small tear is not the end of the world (of course things would be better without one) Installed it on every widow in basement. Area went from being one of the coldest to one of the warmest (I have temperature sensors throughout house) Installed correctly you can barley tell its there. At 3 feet you can tell if your looking directly at border. Looking through window , like looking through another sheet of glass.
