This despite re-tensioning them with pliers to extend their life. The sharper ones start to tear the cloth in your trousers too. Searching for stronger braces just threw up more of the same..... until Perry Suspenders came to the rescue. Note that being American they hold up your pants! What a relief and such a simple solution too. No more pinging and no more torn waistbands. Nothing short of a miracle even when gardening / DIY etc. Have rediscovered my old belts that now work perfectly with them. Make sure you intend to use them with a belt otherwise they don't work. A fairly thick, broad belt works best. Can't recommend enough.
