Designed by Japanese artisans, it offers a calming, breathable surface that naturally absorbs moisture to purify air and regulate temperature year-round. Its elastic corner bands ensure a secure fit on futons, while its roll-up design allows for easy storage, making it a perfect blend of tradition, comfort, and modern convenience. ## Description Size Full 59” X 79” 100% Rush Grass. Our woven rush grass mats are made by Japanese craftsmen. ## Features - Size: Twin 59 inches X 79 inches. Material: 100% rush grass. - Immerse yourself in the tradition of Japan with our tatami mats, a classic Japanese flooring solution. Lie down and let yourself be enveloped by its soft and smooth texture. Revel in its natural appearance, the fresh scent of rush grass, and the tactile pleasure it brings. - Our roll-up tatami is equipped with elastic corner bands, ensuring it stays in place without slipping or falling off your futon. Enjoy the Japanese style by laying it on top of your mattress. If you're using it on a box spring, first place a mattress pad on the box spring, then lay the roll-up tatami, securing it with rubber bands — the elastic bands won't work due to the thickness of the box spring. - When not in use, simply roll it up to a compact size for easy storage, without taking up much space. Keep in mind that it can develop mold in humid conditions, so if it gets wet, wipe it down with a dry cloth or air it out in a well-ventilated area. - The tatami not only absorbs moisture, helping to purify the air, but also facilitates a comfortable sleep whether in the steamy heat of summer or the cold, dry winter months. It imparts a wonderful, calming sensation, akin to being surrounded by nature. Why not transform your sleeping space into a haven of Japanese tranquility with a tatami and futon setup? - Please check the product before purchase Because igusa is a natural material, it may have some irregularities such as uneven color, varying thickness, splits, and effects from the sun. Simply snip away split pieces of igusa. Products with these irregularities are not defective, so please enjoy their natural beauty. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Age Range Description | Adult | | Asin | B08GPF2GPQ | | Bed Size | Full XL (59"x79") | | Best Sellers Rank | #1,997,924 in Home & Kitchen (See Top 100 in Home & Kitchen) #688 in Folding Foam Pads | | Brand | MIINA | | Colour | Natural | | Construction Type | Foam Construction | | Customer Reviews | 4.2 4.2 out of 5 stars (448) 4.2 out of 5 stars | | Fill Material | Rush Grass | | Global Trade Identification Number | 04570053060178 | | Is Customisable | No | | Is Foldable | Yes | | Item Depth | 0.3 inches | | Item Dimensions | 88.9 x 201 x 0.8 Centimeters | | Item Dimensions L X W X Thickness | 2.01L x 1.5W x 0.01Th Meters | | Item Firmness Description | Plush | | Item Type Name | Futon Mattress | | Item Weight | 1.36 kg | | Manufacturer | MIINA | | Mattress Comfort Layer Material | Wool | | Mattress Type | Japanese Futon | | Model Name | Japanese Tatami Mat | | Model Number | B09MMXSVF3 | | Number Of Items | 1 | | Number Of Layers | 1 | | Number Of Packs | 1 | | Portable | Yes | | Product Benefits | Provides a calming, natural sleep experience and purifies air through moisture absorption | | Product Care Instructions | Hand Wash Only | | Product Features | Foldable | | Shape | rectangular | | Style | Traditional Japanese | | Top Style | Tight Top | | Upholstery Material | Rush Grass | | Wood Type | rush grass | ## Product Details - **Brand:** MIINA - **Cover Material:** Rush Grass - **Fill Material:** Rush Grass - **Item Firmness Description:** Plush - **Item Weight:** 3 pounds - **Number of Layers:** 1 - **Product Dimensions:** 79"L x 59"W x 0.3"Th - **Size:** Full XL (59"x79") - **Special Feature:** Foldable - **Top Style:** Pillow Top ## Images ![MIINA　Japanese Traditional Igusa (Rush Grass) Tatami Mattress, Sleeping Mat, Goza Mat (Full_XL, Natural) 59” X 79” - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71SLAImip-L.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color, Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: I do not want to use a box spring due to height. I was told i could use a tatami mat. Would this really work to put under my full size mattress?** A: I’ve had mine for about 6 months now using just a Tatami mat - on a hardwood floor. I had for the last couple of years mild back pain because of a really poorly built $2000 Simmons the (ex) wife and I had - for my back a flatter surface did the trick. Have felt great since sleeping on this **Q: Can I use it on top of a mattress topper to make my sleep firmer?** A: YES！ **Q: Could I put this between a metal bed frame and a cotton futon mattress?** A: Not recommend to do. The tatami sheet is thin and probably wouldn’t hold well under a futon mattress. It is meant to lay on directly. **Q: Can i use an electric blanket with this futon** A: This is a mat, not a futon. Sure you can use an electric blanket. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Recomendado *by on Reviewed in Mexico 29 December 2025* Si es perfecto ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ لم استخدمها *by on Reviewed in Saudi Arabia 27 December 2023* اهديتها لأبي لكن لم يستخدمها لا اعلم اين ذهب بها ### ⭐ SCAM! Arrived damaged with 6” slash and seller wants me to pay to return to a different address *by on Reviewed in Canada 11 June 2022* Nice product in theory but the reality is it arrived very damaged. There is poor quality stitching with a 6” slice where the stitches and grass fibers were cut clean through. Unless it's repaired, it’s in danger of ripping open further, and repair would be very difficult if not impossible. This was an international order and quite expensive. When I reported the issue, I was given an odd return label to a different address with no postage paid. Looks like a SCAM. ## Frequently Bought Together - MIINA Japanese Traditional Igusa (Rush Grass) Tatami Mattress, Sleeping Mat, Japanese futon Mattress, Goza Mat (Full_XL, Natural) 59” X 79” - MIINA Japanese Futon Mattress, Made in Japan Full (55"×78") White, Foldable Floor Lounger Bed Tatami Mat, Roll Up Sleeping Pad, Shikibuton --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.us/products/823170556-miina-japanese-traditional-igusa-rush-grass-tatami-mattress-sleeping-mat](https://www.desertcart.us/products/823170556-miina-japanese-traditional-igusa-rush-grass-tatami-mattress-sleeping-mat) --- *Product available on Desertcart United States of America* *Store origin: US* *Last updated: 2026-10-22*
