Lube the screw driver shaft, and carefully engage the screwdriver. Wiggle the screw driver once engaged in the screw to free any debris in the drive for the screw. My screw had come crud in the drive once I removed it. The fit was not precision to the stock, this part is slightly wider and the end at the bottom of the stock stuck out maybe an 1/8" or more.
