I cannot determine this detail from the photo shown.** A: Yes, this beautiful statue does depict Blessed Mother crushing the serpent. **Q: where is this statue made?** A: I bought it for my mom..but unfortunately like everything else. It appears to have been made in China. However, it is a very nice statue in material and detail. **Q: Can this be an out side statue?** A: This statue would be a beautiful addition but I would not recommend placing her outside. I have several of the Joseph's Studio pieces and they are all so very beautiful....keep them indoors, illuminated by the glow of a votive candle....indoors........year round! **Q: Are her eyes closed or open?** A: I’m adding to my earlier response.
