The tapestry is 5 feet tall by 7 feet wide and about 1/2 inch thick. Spaced about 15" apart, these clips hold it just fine. The clips are made to hook over a 1" square bar. I used the hole instead to screw them into overhead wood. At first I thought they might not open wide enough for this thick of a rug, but with a little coaxing (and a couple of them I pried open slightly) they went right on. They can also be slid onto the rug from one end. These are the same clips they use at our local carpet store for displays.
