To start off touch your top finger to the corner of your lip , this will be your anchor point . Have a helper make a mark on the arrow 4 inches in front of the riser This will allow the tip of the arrow to be used as a aiming point . Measure the arrow from the inter part of the nock to the mark you make on the arrow . That measurement will be the length of the arrow you want not including the field tip . This will be a good starting point for your arrow length . You will also need to get the correct spine arrow . The spine of the arrow is based on the poundage of the bow and the arrow length . For example a 20 pound bow with a 28 inch arrow if you go to the Easton web site and type in that info it will pick a 1616 to 1714 arrow spine. So once you know the length you need and the poundage of the bow you have just enter that in the web page and get your correct spine arrow . Just having the right length is not enough , you have to get the correct spine size also . The last thing is the tip weight . for 20 lb bows and under get a 75 grain tip . After you get the hang of shooting you may find your anchor point will change from your fingers to the arrow's feathers or the string on your nose , all this will change the arrow length needed . Measure the arrow by the anchor point you are going to use . Watch video 's on anchor points . Most people start off with a finger touch to the lip corner . According to the draw weight 12 -22 lbs the tip of the arrow will be at different distances . Start off at 10 yards from the target and place the tip of the arrow in the center of the target . If the arrow hits high walk back to 15 yards and do the same thing . if the arrow hits in the center of the target you know your arrow tip is 15 yards center shot . If you are aiming at a 20 yard target you know you have to place the arrow tip above the center of the target . You have to figure out just how high to aim to get the arrow to hit the center of the target by trial and error . That's really all you need to know to get started and be able top hit the target in a short amount of time . **Q: What is the draw length on this bow?** A: I have a normal adult size draw length of 28" and I had no issues shooting it. I felt no stacking of the limbs. **Q: I ordered this bow and the string that came with it is way too long. Can you direct me to where I can get a new string in the appropriate size?** A: Generally, the string length for a recurve bow should be 4 inches shorter than the AMO length. So if you have a 54 inch AMO, then you would want to get a 50 inch string. The AMO length of the bow should be marked on the bow somewhere, or on the box or information that came with it. If you have a place like a Cabela's or bass pro shop in your town, you may can find the correct length there on the shelf. If not, of course you can order one from many places, including Amazon. If you want a custom or multicolored strings there are a few guys on eBay that you can order custom strings from for a reasonable price as well. When I get a new string I string it up and leave it strung overnight to stretch out. Just do this once, do not do this on a normal basis. Always leave your bow unstrung when not in use. It will stretch a couple inches and that will end up being the average length of the string.
