But, you have to make sure there are no solid objects in the way or else the ultrasonic sound will not penetrate. It does not go through walls or objects, so you may need to point it in a direction that gives best coverage or buy more than one. It will only repel one type or setting on the unit at a time. So, if you have different pests to repel like rodents and also bugs, you will need two units. It comes with an included AC adapter. We have never had a problem with that unit so we're hoping that this one will last as long. We started to have mice problems in a shed where we store corn. We made some physical changes and installed this rodent chaser-no mice seen since. I like the repel rather than the kill option. Sound on this model is much quieter than the larger one in the garage. That makes sense since it is rated for smaller spaces.
