I run all three modes when I brush, starting with the first regular modes, then whitening, and I finish with the massage. The brush comes with 10 heads! And the nicest travel case ever! It even has a drain to make sure it keeps moisture away from your bristles. Super awesome. And the battery life is as advertised, I haven't had to charge mine yet, I charged it full once, and I am currently testing the battery life. But so far it's running off the first charge for about a week now. If it is below advertised life, I will let you know. My husband and I use this, and replaced our expensive Sonicare with this. The bristles are fixed to the shaft of the head that clicks into the handle body, but that head shaft does move. You feel the vibration in the handle, but that is the same as most toothbrushes. You won't see as much movement as an OralB that twists the upper bristles and moves the lower bristles up and down, but they are comparable for cleaning IMO.
