Measure carefully before installing. It's been working great for 2 months now. **Q: Can this be mounted vertically?** A: There is nothing to prevent a vertical mount; however you should consider (1) whether the spring on the front flap is strong enough to close when it is not assisted by gravity and (2) whether you would be comfortable with a back flap that remains open (because it relies on gravity for closure, and thus may not close automatically in a vertical mounting). We've had one of these vertically mounted in our office for over a year and it has worked fine in that configuration.
