It takes the leather to look as if just came out of the tannery. Caution be sure to test in a small "unseen" area, since it will remove the coloring of poorly tinted leather. In the photos you can see a comparison of the treated shoe and the untreated one; in daylight and in a torch light. As can be seen the treated shoe has almost no shine; as all the products that had been applied over the years were removed, and it was left in a state similar to just getting out of the tannery.
