I am a mail carrier and this pack sits behind the seat in my mail vehicle and manages my drinks, my tools, extra pens, lights, miscellaneous weather gear (neck gaiter, cleats, and gloves in the winter, cooling kerchief in summer), and my smaller hats. It goes to and from work with me every day, five or six days a week. After most of a year, it's still holding its shape, zippers still secure, bottle holders still cinching tight.This is a "tardis" container for me, holding more in its space than it seems it should. I found the original price a bit high, but it was worth every penny for the long-lasting quality.I cannot speak to the comfort as worn for hikers, but I use the shoulder strap in and out every day and it hangs from the shoulder strap in my vehicle. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If you only want to buy one lumbar pack, pick this one. *by on Reviewed in the United States November 3, 2025* Excellent build quality, well laid out features, very comfortable to wear. It's well worth the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for large dudes *by on Reviewed in the United States May 17, 2026* Pluses: Roomy, good quality, robust zippers, multiple compartments, nice choice of colors, roomy waist strap for larger users, shoulder strap, pockets to tuck in the waist strap if using it as a shoulder bag.Minuses:1. if one has a small waist and larger hips, (a) there’s a lot of strapping that has to be cinched up and the extra length flops around distractingly and gets in the way of clipping the waist belt(b) the pack sits on the hips and flops around on the waist (because the pack is a cylindrical shape || not an inverted cone shape ^)2. The shoulder strap tends to flip around so the padded side is up instead of on the shoulder.3. Although the compartments are nice and roomy, that means most of the things one puts in sink to the bottom and are hard to get out (so extra small pockets would be good).4. A little on the pricey side, but the quality is worth it.Improvements: additional small pockets for items such as cell phone, glasses, and wallet would be a nice addition. The pocket that the key clip is in is harder access than the back pocket, so putting the key clip in the easiest pocket to open would be good.
