It is possible to achieve satisfactory results with basic methods, but soon most new roasters realize there is fine line of time and temperature needed throughout roasting process to fully unlock development of all the bean’s natural delicious nuances. Basically, beans need to be heated to around 400*F within 10-15 minutes time, then use fan to cool to room temperature. After this is complete you can grind beans to brew your own home-roasted coffee. Secrets to know: 1-The beans need even-heating from surface to core; this requires stirring or tumbling during roasting. 2-Better taste is found with higher heat in beginning then slowly drawing down heat as roast progresses. 3-Shorter roast times 7-10 min develop higher acidity with greater complexity. 4-Longer roast times 10-15 min develop lower acidity, complexity, with higher body. 5-Fresh current-crop high-altitude-grown coffee beans have more intense flavor complexities. Developing your profile: Determine flavor qualities you want. For higher acidity and complexity create your profile to complete in 10-12 min. Develop the roast evenly surface to core. Adjust time and temp ratios to achieve your own personal taste preferences. If it tastes grassy, it is underdeveloped. If taste is sour, apply greater heat. A: no, thank God.  Decaf coffee should be against the law

**Q: what is the difference between roasted and green bean unroasted coffee?**
A: I hope I'm not giving too simple of an answer. I'm thinking the question is being asked by someone not familiar with coffee beans and how coffee is made. You cannot grind green beans and use in whatever coffee machine you use and get drinkable coffee. It has to be roasted for that. People buy green beans to get the freshest coffee they can get as coffee grains start going bad as soon as it is roasted and faster as soon as it's ground. So we roast our own from green beans to our liking. Hope that was the info you were looking for.

**Q: How long can these be stored in the burlap bag?**
A: I keep the raw coffee until I roast it; my 10 lbs. bag lasts about 1 1/2 months.

**Q: If I were to buy the 25lb option, does it come in one big bag or five smaller 5lb bags?**
A: It would come in two 12 1/2 lb bags
