My sister, a health professional, suggested I check my iodine intake because I don't use much table salt and don't eat fish. I said the multivitamin I was taking covered me there, but when I checked I found iodine was not even listed on the panel. Yikes!I remember when I was a kid, iodine deficiency was a really big deal and we were told that to our good fortune iodine was added to table salt in the mid-1920s. In my late preteens and early teens, I was really into aquariums and the guy who ran the aquarium section of the store where I bought that kind of stuff had a very large thyroid. I asked my mom about it, and she said he had an iodine deficiency and thus had this condition. Men's "Adams apples", she explained, were larger than those of women. But they should not be as big as his.Since I didn't have a source of supplemental iodine, I decided to pick some up. I shop at a well-known natural foods store. They have a supplements section of significant size. I looked, but did not find iodine. Fortunately, at about the same time, the Amazon Vine program offered this supplement so I had it shipped to me.This body bio product is the first iodine supplement I have tried. It comes in a liquid form, not capsules or tablets. The bottle says to take 3 drops per day, and doing so will give you 210 mcg of iodine. That's 140% of the RDA of 1`50 mcg, but the RDA is not "based on the science" and is thus not to be trusted. The RDA for D3, for example, is about 20% of the minimum you should actually get.I looked online and found that iodine is toxic at dosages of 2000 mcg and higher. If I take all 3 drops, it won't be too much even if I am already getting the RDA. Apparently, I am getting enough to prevent hyperthyroidism and (as far as I can tell) other problems associated with low iodine. But now I have insurance in case I'm just a little shy there. A drop a day should do it.These don't taste bad. They have hardly any taste at all. That's a plus, considering how awful-tasting some supplements are. You could add a drop to your tea or the water you are drinking. I think that's how I'm going to use this, versus tilting my head back and dropping directly into my mouth where I can't see what I'm doing.

I took this for 3 months and it did not work for me at all. I don't know why I did not absorb it. I even avoided goitrogens. My TSH even went up. As soon as I switched to a patented transdermal form I felt much better with more energy and less pain. I therefore cannot recommend it.

This is the best tasting iodine ever. The liquid inside is clear and tastes like very very lightly salted water. They don't taste like what I would normally call salt water, just like water with a tiny bit of salt in it. I can't taste the iodine at all. The first day I got these I used twice the recommended dosage because I certainly felt like I was deficient, and the next day I had noticeably more energy and slept less. It's been easy for me to take these because the bottle is small enough that I can keep it where I sit a lot and I don't need to drink any water to take it. Taking this is not at all unpleasant and I've had no side effects, only increased energy.

I bought this because it’s a clean product. The product came in a plastic bottle which I chose over extra unnecessary ingredients. However, the plastic bottle smells terribly of perfume/scent that won’t dissipate. I’ve washed it and left it outdoors. The company never responded. I will return.

I love this brand, it's such a cool idea. I have some of their other minerals and the idea is that your body can tell you whether you need more of a mineral or not by a "taste test". Read up on the site for more.Anyway, I'm someone who has taken Lugol's solution internally before. It's not awful because it's strongly diluted but it's still kind of gross and stains. This iodine is clear, and doesn't taste like anything. So awesome!!A lot of people have thyroid issues or would benefit from extra iodine in the diet because outside of seaweed we rarely get it. Taking iodine can help serious energy issues, I've heard of people with chronic fatigue benefiting from it. Currently I don't have too many problems in that area but I'm happy to give myself an extra boost of iodine. It's very easy to take and I love that you can titrate the dose with drops. The price is great and it should last a super long time. Give this a try and pick up more ionic minerals from BodyBio while you're at it!

We take potassium iodide internally, primarily to aid and protect the thyroid. In any area subject to radiation, it’s an essential product. They say the serving size is 3 drops/day. We know people who take from 1 to 5 drops per day, depending on their needs and tolerance. We also use potassium Iodide as a treatment for skin irritations and infections.
