Maybe water resistant to a point but it's not sealed at the speaker, so under a faucet may cause problems, and the led and power button would leak with any real depth. I've seen videos where guys have sealed the speaker with silicone. **Q: Does it come with batteries,if not, what type?** A: mine did come with batteries but I have owned it awhile and that may have changed. it is stored for the winter, cant remember if it was 9 volt or double AA. **Q: What kind of batteries does it use and can you change them???** A: A single 9 volt battery.
