## Description

Bosch Spiral Screw Extractor Sets feature extractors that are ideal for removing stripped screws, bolts and other fasteners. The left-hand flutes grip the metal firmly. Spiral flutes are used to remove stripped screws from harder materials (straight flutes are for removing stripped screws from softer material). Made from heat-treated carbon steel, they are rust- and tarnish-resistant tools. The rolled threads are more accurate and cleaner than machined threads. They are tooled to the most exacting specifications. Laser-etched marking ensures size identification and won't wear off. They feature a precise flute design to ensure the flutes grip firmly.

Review: Good quality - I used the #2 extractor to extract a stripped allen head set screw. I didn't have to drill it because the stripped allen head hole in the set screw was the correct size for the extractor (7/64 allen wrench size). I tapped the extractor in place with a small hammer. There wasn't much room where the set screw was located, so I had to use a small 5/32 open end wrench (4mm wrench will work also) to turn the extractor. Ironically enough, one side of the open end wrench actually broke off before the allen screw broke loose. The extractor was still solid in place so I got another open end wrench and tried again. Success! the screw broke loose and I was able to extract it. Bottom line: If an open end wrench breaks from the torque before the extractor breaks, in my mind that's a testament to the quality of the extractor.

**Q: No instructions are provided. What size drill and extractors are used for what size bolt?**
A: I just saw 6 drill bits and 6 extractors, so I assumed one went with the other.  As to what size bolt it's just a matter of seeing what would fit.  You may be able to start small and go to a larger size if needed.

I used the #2 extractor to extract a stripped allen head set screw. I didn't have to drill it because the stripped allen head hole in the set screw was the correct size for the extractor (7/64 allen wrench size). I tapped the extractor in place with a small hammer. There wasn't much room where the set screw was located, so I had to use a small 5/32 open end wrench (4mm wrench will work also) to turn the extractor. Ironically enough, one side of the open end wrench actually broke off before the allen screw broke loose. The extractor was still solid in place so I got another open end wrench and tried again. Success! the screw broke loose and I was able to extract it. Bottom line: If an open end wrench breaks from the torque before the extractor breaks, in my mind that's a testament to the quality of the extractor.

### ⭐ Packaging is where the positive end

The packaging is great and other than that everything else is awful. Bosch is usually decent but not the case here. First. Both the drill bits and the extractors are not very sharp or strong as I broke the tip of the bit right away when I started drilling and snapped the extractor as soon as it started to bite. I was better off using my own titanium Drill bits I had. This made my problem sooo much more of a headache than it was ready was (keep in mind I was using this tool as intended). On top of that, both the extractors and the bits are pretty short compared to my other bits I used (probably cause they are cheap and can’t take higher torque if they were longer) but the worst part of it was that on the small extractors, the square end you are meant to put a wrench on are extremely small. Idk anyone one owns a wrench small enough to fit on that and if you use a small crescent wrench, the surface area is still so small that the play in the wrench adjuster is enough to no be able to actually get a grip on it. I want my money back for this and I honestly wish I could get reimburse for now having to now disassemble the motor, get a machine shop to drill out and rethread the stud, and have everything all reassembled again. This really sucks
