The inside is very smooth and when it is closed the 2 halves come completely together so the whole zipper is outside the inner portion so the watch never touches it. The zipper is an extremely smooth high quality YKK zipper as you can hear in the video. Fits my 42mm Seiko SKX171 and 50mm Suunto Core perfect. I take one of the foam pieces out for the Suunto. The Seiko bracelet doesn't even rattle when it is zipped up. I replaced my zipper pull with a piece of green paracord with wire shrink tubing on it. The inside is very smooth and when it is closed the 2 halves come completely together so the whole zipper is outside the inner portion so the watch never touches it.
