Got these for my son who just turned 9. He absolutely loves using them, however after the first use of all the knives, peeler and veggie cutter we washed the knives. One of our knives (the alligator) rusted over after being washed. We are bummed since we just used the set once. :( Otherwise, these are really cool.

Kochen macht bei uns zuhause inzwischen die ganze Familie gemeinsam – und natürlich wollen meine beiden Jungs (7 und 9 Jahre) auch immer mitmachen. Bisher hatte ich dabei allerdings ehrlich gesagt immer ein ungutes Gefühl.Meine normalen Küchenmesser sind wirklich sehr scharf und schneiden problemlos sogar dicke Möhren oder andere harte Gemüsesorten. Wenn ich dann daneben die kleinen Finger meiner Kinder sehe, denke ich mir immer: Das ist vermutlich leichter zu schneiden als eine Karotte… Entsprechend nervös war ich jedes Mal, wenn sie beim Schneiden helfen wollten.Genau deshalb habe ich dieses Kinder-Kochset ausprobiert, damit sie trotzdem beim Kochen mithelfen können – aber deutlich sicherer.Verpackung und erster EindruckDas Set kommt in einer hübschen aufklappbaren Kartonbox, die fast wie ein Buch gestaltet ist. Darin sind die einzelnen Teile sauber eingelegt. Der erste Eindruck ist ordentlich und wirkt durchaus wie ein kleines Geschenkset.Im Set enthalten sind unter anderem:• mehrere Kinder-Kochmesser mit unterschiedlichen Formen• ein Gemüseschneider mit Wellenschnitt• ein Sparschäler• ein Fingerschutz• ein SchneidebrettDie Griffe sind bunt gestaltet und wirken ergonomisch, sodass sie gut in kleine Kinderhände passen.Sicherheit und HandhabungDer größte Pluspunkt für mich ist ganz klar der Fingerschutz, der ebenfalls im Set enthalten ist. Damit können Kinder ihre Finger schützen, während sie schneiden.Die Messer haben außerdem eine Form und einen Schliff, der Lebensmittel gut schneidet, aber deutlich weniger aggressiv ist als ein klassisches Küchenmesser. Genau das war mir wichtig.Seit wir dieses Set benutzen, habe ich deutlich weniger Bedenken, wenn meine Kinder beim Vorbereiten helfen.Erste Erfahrungen in der KücheWir haben damit bereits verschiedene Dinge geschnitten:• Obst• Gurken• Paprika• weicheres GemüseDas klappt für Kinder wirklich gut. Natürlich ersetzt das kein richtig scharfes Kochmesser, aber genau das soll es ja auch nicht. Unsere 4-Jährige ist zur Zeit sehr begeistert, in der Küche mithelfen zu dürfen, also wollten wir ihr auch passendes Equipment besorgen.Was uns gut gefällt:- Das Design und die Form der Messer ist kindgerecht. Sie lassen sich leicht benutzen und sind trotzdem scharf genug, dass keine Frustration aufkommt.- Ein extra Fingerschutz gibt Eltern den nötigen Seelenfrieden beim gemeinsamen Arbeiten nicht die ganze Zeit das Kind zu beobachten.- Es gibt zahlreiche Messer für die verschiedensten Einsatzbereiche, wobei ich mich wirklich frage, ob die alle unbedingt nötig sind.Was uns weniger gut gefällt:- Das gewellte Messer, mit dem grünen Griff, hat uns schon vor Rätsel gestellt. Falls jemand damit mal was schön geschnitten hat, darf er/sie gern ein Video davon einstellen. Danke 🙏Fazit:Ist es nötig, vermutlich nicht. Trifft es auf Begeisterung bei dem Kind, das jetzt sein eigenes Equipment hat, um als vollwertige Küchenhilfe eigenständig Aufgaben erledigen zu können? Auf jeden Fall!
