To determine if your setup will work with this derailleur you need to sum the differentials of the cogs, and the crankset. This is done by subtracting the number of teeth of the smallest cog from the largest cog. For example if you're running an 11-34 cassette you'd do the following; 34 - 11 = 23. Then you'd do the same for the crankset, so if you're running a compact it would be; 50 - 34 = 16. Next you sum the two results 23 + 16 = 39, and 39 is the maximum capacity of the RD-R7000 GS.
