This is just the grit and the grit is usable in any tumbler. **Q: Can this grit be used for grinding and polishing rock thin sections?** A: i would think so **Q: After the polish, are the rocks glossy and shiny?** A: They won't be as shiny as you think. The grit polish the rocks so try are smooth but there is a fifth stage in rock polishing called burnishing that you have to do at the end. Search the internet on directions but it involves tumbling them in soap like borax. Also, if you want your rocks to look good you have to get the ceramic filler pellets to even out the tumbles. Plastic doesn't do the trick like ceramic.
