I know Behringer was not the first making this kind of mixing/interface solution, but this XR 18 is the best device I’ve ever used in live concerts. It provides full control of the mix by having ‘all in the box’. Before I used to carry a 100 feet cable snake, a mixer, a rack with effects (compressors, reverbs, delays, EQs, etc) and now I only carry my XR 18, a wireless router and my laptop. The 6 auxiliars are excellent as it allows providing individual monitoring for 6 musicians. In rehearsals you can add three more musicians using the phones jack and the main L & R outputs. The ability to create scenes is terrific, as I can keep the set up for the different artists I work with without the need to start over. The preamps quality is good enough even for recording. I have used in for live performance mixer and as Studio interface and both worked perfect. The only area I didn’t like is the inputs 1 and 2 due to the Z feature. For some reason it amplifies the background noise when using microphones, creating feedback noises or a bothering hiss. (like mackie dl16)** A: Yes. I have this mixer and am very happy with it. I think the built in wifi is great for setup, and non-venue use (reharsals etc). The network established by the built in wifi is a local network, so no internet involved. There are 2 different apps to control xr18. X Air (for ios or android) will allow full control of the mixer from all connected phones/tablets. There's also X Air Q app that only allows control of inputs and levels to the aux busses, not changing the main mix. Performers get this app to do "more me" in their monitors without the ability to "accidentally" mute another performer. Now, if you're going to use this where there are other wifi, people with phones. dang near any public place, please buy a cheap wifi router. I bought a $10 Belkin at Ollie's closeout store and it's been fabulous. A good,, current model one will work even better. Many advantages: Stronger signal, ability to put router and antennas up high, use 5g instead of 2.4mhz (faster, fewer idiots with phones trying to connect to your mixer, etc), and you can keep a laptop wired to one of the other ports on the router for control that cannot fail due to wireless problems. In fact, go to your app store and get the Behringer apps. They have an "offline" simulation mode so you can try em out without having the mixer yet. And a boatload of youtube vids to teach you how to use it all. **Q: Does the mixer have single-channel stereo inputs for keyboards and guitar processers?** A: The mixer is very flexible, it's all about how you program it. Each input is a mono input. Each input can send to one or both sides of a stereo "main" mix. It also has several monitor mix outputs. Each is independent of the main mix. You could configure into a surround sound system, each input can go to an independent different output. I found some tutorials on Youtube that were very helpful. **Q: Will system be able to work if iPad is not present? For a church.
