## Overview

The San Martin SN008D is a 40mm mechanical dive watch featuring the robust NH35 automatic movement with 21,600 vibrations per hour and a 41-hour power reserve. Its slim 11.95mm stainless steel case houses a domed sapphire crystal and a 120-click unidirectional bezel with luminous markers. Water resistant to 200 meters, it offers three dial options with distinct lume colors and a tapered solid steel bracelet designed for comfort and durability. A perfect blend of classic dive aesthetics and modern watchmaking technology.

## Description

The San Martin SN008D brings together the raised profile of a vintage dive watch and the practical construction expected from a modern mechanical watch. Its 40mm stainless steel case is 11.95mm thick, while the domed top hat sapphire crystal and matte aluminum bezel give the watch its most recognizable character. The 120-click unidirectional bezel includes a luminous reference at 12 o’clock. Inside, the NH35 automatic movement operates at 21,600 vph (3Hz), with manual winding, hacking seconds and an approximate 41-hour power reserve. A screw-down crown and screw-down case back support 200M/20-bar water resistance. The three dial options are not identical after dark. Black-and-white and blue versions use BGW-X1 blue lume, while the black-and-gold version uses C3 green lume across the hands and hour markers. The solid stainless steel bracelet tapers from 20mm to 16mm, reducing bulk around the clasp. Upgraded screw-structure links simplify bracelet sizing, while the folding safety clasp provides a secure closure.

Review: The hype is real - Wow, where to start with this watch? First, it's an absolutely classic design as an homage to the Tudor Black Bay 58 which itself is an homage to the early Submariners. I had heard all of the glowing reviews for San Martin and purchased another model before this one, but the one I recieved looked like it was hit by a truck before it got to me. I wanted to give SM another shot and picked this model and I'm very glad that I did. Keep in mind, this is a sub $200 watch we're talking about, so everything I'm about to write should be qualified by the price point of the watch. Overall, this thing is punching well about its weight class. First, the case is a nice brushed stainless steel with a one piece screw on caseback, like an old school diver should have. It also wears very nicely on my 7" wrist. Definitely a nice all around size. This watch would be just as at home around the house as it would be out to a nice restaurant. Crystal seems to be decent quality as well, which I believe is sapphire, although it does have some reflectiveness. Slight dome to it as well. Second, the bracelet is realatively high quality. The clasp is actually machined, not stamped which I was pleasantly surprised to see. It features threaded link pins which I do appreciate. It does not have the tool-less micro adjustments like the last SA model I ordered, but it is of nice quality nonetheless. My plan with this watch was to put it on a James Bond nato strap, like a super budget version of the classic 007 Submariner. Only problem now is that this bracelet is so nice, I'm not sure I want to take it off anymore. Third, the movement is standard Seiko NH35 which means good durability and good accuracy. However, the NH35 is a movement with a date complication and this SA does not feature a date window. So there is a ghost position when you pull out the crown. Not a big deal. Movement does feature hacking and hand winding which is nice. The bezel feels pretty good. Nice tactile "clickiness". Not the best I felt, but it is good. Last, the lume on this thing is impressive. I have always held Seiko lume in very high regard, even when compared to some of my higher end watches. While this one may not be quite that good, it's not too far off either. Overall, if you are considering a Rolex/Tudor/classic diver homage piece in this price range from some of the Chinese producers, ie Steeldives, Pagani Designs, Berny, etc I would highly recommend this one, you will not regret it. If you are just looking for a decent dive watch for daily wear, I would say you are still better off with an Orient in the same price range. Overall, great purchase, very happy with the watch and looking forward to seeing how it holds up.
Review: Amazing value for price! - Great watch for the price, I was genuinely impressed with the quality. Feels great , looks amazing.

## Features

- NH35 WITH 21,600 VPH AND 41-HOUR RESERVE: The movement supports automatic winding, manual winding and hacking seconds. Its 3Hz rate and practical reserve make time setting and restarting straightforward after the watch has been left unworn.
- 200M PERFORMANCE IN A SLIMMER 40MM PROFILE: The case is only 11.95mm thick despite its screw-down crown, screw-down back and 200M/20-bar rating. A 49.5mm lug-to-lug length gives the SN008D a broad vintage-diver stance without adding unnecessary height.
- TOP HAT SAPPHIRE OVER A MATTE ALUMINUM BEZEL: The raised domed crystal creates the SN008D’s vintage profile, while AR coating helps control reflections. Below it, the 120-click unidirectional bezel includes a luminous reference at 12 o’clock.
- THREE DIALS, TWO DISTINCT LUME COLORS: Black-and-white and blue versions glow BGW-X1 blue; the black-and-gold version uses C3 green. The hands, hour markers and bezel reference are illuminated, keeping each colorway visually distinct after dark.
- TAPERED SOLID STEEL BRACELET: The bracelet narrows from 20mm at the case to 16mm at the clasp, reducing bulk around the wrist. Upgraded screw-structure links make sizing more straightforward, while the folding safety clasp helps keep it securely closed.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing value for price!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pleasantly surprised - excellent craftsmanship
*by E***E on February 6, 2026*

Beautiful craftsmanship. High quality NH35 movement. I have worn it daily for 2 weeks and is dead on accurate. Water resistant with everyday wear. Have not submerged it yet but I imagine it will do well. Great lume for a few hours after getting direct sunlight. What more could you expect. I have gotten many complements on this piece and have compared it side by side to a friend’s Tudor black bay 58. Suprisibgly it stands up. (Obviously you can tell the difference, the black bay is clearly higher quality - but also 25x the cost). Thank you for producing an excellent automatic diver that is affordable. You will not regret this purchase.
