A: It has 1,600 mcg of zeaxanthin.

**Q: When I opened my bottle there was a funky smell, similar to that of spoiled cooking oil.  Is that pretty normal?**
A: Lutein capsules do have a light odor distinct from that of fish oil capsules.  I do not know if this is due to the Lutein or the accompanying Zeaxanthin, or
from the composition of the gel cap, itself.  I would call 1-800-645-1030 (Puritan Pride) and speak with those who should have firsthand knowledge.

One of my goto vits for AMD. The 40 mg is just right and like the trials. Not only does it nourish the retina, it helps with dry eye. My eyes have not been dry since I started this.
