Review: These are great tie downs , I got these for a covered area in my back yard where I have a 10ftx10ft tarp to cover a paint table for wood working, I use these to tie it down, the length is just right for 8FT poles, the ratchet works great and is easy to tighten the tarp, I have a heavy duty double layer tarp that I use and it keeps it tight, I have had it up all summer and it still tight with no rust on the ratchets, price is well worth it, would recommend them and buy again.

Use these in you grow room. You wont regret it. In additional it gives you hight adjustment went bits of string and wire does not. They also have many applications

**Q: Can I use these for my bow and stern lines when transporting my kayaks with J-hooks?**
A: These have a 75 pound rating which is really too light for transporting something as big as a kayak on top of a vehicle.  I'd use something beefier. The pulley housings are plastic.  From their description: "The hanging clips are perfect for hanging growing light fixtures, carbon filters, ventilation equipment, and more." ie. light weight items like plants and lights indoors.  They are fine within their specified load rating.

**Q: Is the end of the rope tied in a knot around the metal hook piece at the end, or crimped with a piece of metal to make a loop for the hook?**
A: The carabiner opens to affix the pulley system to the object you’re lifting/securing. One end is affixed to an immoveable object while the other end is affixed to your moveable load.  The stainless steel hook (carabiner) opens to accommodate a ring or whatever to attach it to the pulley system.  For the 1/8” systems, the snap latch in the carabiner will open wide enough to slip probably a 1/4” rope through the opening. Or you may thread the rope through the opening.  The latch is useful when attaching to a larger rope or a 1/4” or smaller ring.  In the tie down mode both ends are immoveable, and the ratchet makes the line taut to hold whatever is under the line is secured. VBNE1?

**Q: will these work with bird feeders?**
A: They sure will. As long as your feeder is able to hang in balance on 1 line or has multiple attachment points to keep it stable.

**Q: Can I replace the rope with one of my own length**
A: Yes. I replaced mine with longer ropes of the same diameter and it worked perfectly.

These rope hangers are solid. The ratchet mechanism bites cleanly and holds tension without creeping or slipping under load. Adjustment is smooth and precise, not jerky or prone to locking up. Rope and hardware feel durable, not undersized. Hooks are sturdy and don’t bend, and the release works predictably without suddenly dumping the load. Once set, whatever you hang stays exactly where you put it. Works well for lights, tools, fans, or storage applications where fine height adjustment matters. This is functional hardware, not flimsy garage junk.
