Is it compatible with the D700??** A: I have a D700 and this lens works fine. This is a Nikon "F" mount lens. All Nikon DSLR and SLR cameras for the past 50~60 years are F mount. All F mount lenses will work on all F mount cameras. It's like saying "will a 14mm wrench fit on a 14 mm bolt?"
