While climbing you can hear the squeaks due to weight of the person, but nothing to worry as ladder is stable. The top most step serves as a lock to hold the ladder in position. I have used it on different surfaces like vitrified tiles, balcony, bathroom, etc. and the ladder doesn't skid. It is rust proof and light to carry as it is made of Aluminium material.
