But now that some time has passed, I can report some problems. One is the fragrance. It smells much more like a light mens cologne than I like. 2. More importantly, I shampoo my hair daily because of very done hair and using mouse and hairspray daily. This shampoo caused my scalp to dry out a little and made it itchy. I fixed it with a tea tree oil treatment. But I don’t want to have to do them a lot. So I had to only use this every other day with a three day break in between. When something does something amazing for your hair, there’s always a pride beyond just the dollar amount. Oh well, just thought everyone should know. It still does great things for my hair itself. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Oh my gosh I’m SO glad I bought this shampoo. I’ve been using Pureology for damaged color treated hair for about a year. It made my color last but didn’t really do anything special besides color retention. Prime days are here so I tried Redkin acidic color gloss. The difference in the performance of the product is AMAZING! The Redkin made my hair SUPER shiny and manageable beyond my wildest expectations. I didn’t expect the improvement in manageability so I’m very happily surprised and I used the same spray and mouse that I always have. I was going to get my hair cut today and I don’t need to now. Using the blow dryer and curling iron, like I do every day, my hair held the curls 100% (or more) better and when I gave it a little hair spray it’s stayed put. I haven’t experienced this with a shampoo EVER. I was skeptical at first because the shampoo is a little thinner and didn’t lather up as well as the Pureology so I absolutely wasn’t expecting the results. It required very little shampoo. I used the same nickel spot as I do with Pureogy. I hesitated to use more. There was definitely “enough” lather, just not as much as I’m used to with Pureology. I’m not crazy about the scent overall. It’s not bad but for me it would have been better if the scent was a little fruity. If this shampoo retains color as well as Pureology, I’m SOLD and won’t use anything else. I have fine and a little bit thin hair and it’s really shiny and very manageable after using this shampoo. I felt I was in need of a cut today because it was falling limp the last week or so. Clearly, I’m a little bit stunned. I couldn’t find anywhere if it’s safe for everyday use. I sure hope so. With Pureology there was no improvement in the “performance” of my hair besides color retention. Just to prove I’ve used both products, I’ve included a photo of it on my messy counter. If I find my color fades I’ll update this review. Sorry if I’m a little overexcited over this.
