Took a bit to figure out as I read the directions but I was so happy when it started playing AHH!! It sounds great in my opinion, I dont think you really need batteries like it says in the direction, it made me confused to read that in the direction because it said "requires C batteries" but it really doesn't? I don't really plan to use it for AM/FM radio but I checked it out anyways while configuring it and the FM radio sounds definitely better in terms of clearity than AM, AM was very staticky. The CD player works amazingly well, a little difficult to remove the cd from the player but overall it's great.
