## Description

A sensual, tender collection to be cherished by lovers new and old Pablo Neruda was probably the greatest and certainly the most prolific of twentieth-century Latin American poets. This, his third collection, Veinte Poemas de Amor y una Cancion Desesperada , or, Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair , was first published in 1924 and attracted international acclaim. Still adored the world over, the collection is ambitiously metaphorical and sensuous. Inspired by Neruda's own personal relationships and injected with an expressive eroticism, T wenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair is evidence of a genius poet at work. A perfect present for your beloved on Valentine's Day.

Review: Buy it if you want to believe in magic - Pablo Neruda's works come with a caution. They may drive you crazy, lead you away from the world, make you fall in love even when there's no one to fall in love to. It is work like this that makes you a believer, makes you have faith, fall in love, believe in it, see the beauty in it. I have heard countless of times that love is the greatest thing in the world, sadly enough, I haven't quite seen or observed pure love myself. Although one may tend to think that maybe it's a hoax, but every now and then I find evidences of it that gives me hope. This is one of them. Tonight I Can Write Tonight I can write the saddest lines. Write, for example, "The night is starry and the stars are blue and shiver in the distance." The night wind revolves in the sky and sings. Tonight I can write the saddest lines. I loved her, and sometimes she loved me too. Through nights like this one I held her in my arms. I kissed her again and again under the endless sky. She loved me, sometimes I loved her too. How could one not have loved her great still eyes. Tonight I can write the saddest lines. To think that I do not have her. To feel that I have lost her. To hear the immense night, still more immense without her. And the verse falls to the soul like dew to the pasture. What does it matter that my love could not keep her. The night is starry and she is not with me. This is all. In the distance someone is singing. In the distance. My soul is not satisfied that it has lost her. My sight tries to find her as though to bring her closer. My heart looks for her, and she is not with me. The same night whitening the same trees. We, of that time, are no longer the same. I no longer love her, that's certain, but how I loved her. My voice tried to find the wind to touch her hearing. Another's. She will be another's. As she was before my kisses. Her voice, her bright body. Her infinite eyes. I no longer love her, that's certain, but maybe I love her. Love is so short, forgetting is so long. Because through nights like this one I held her in my arms my soul is not satisfied that it has lost her. Though this is the last pain that she makes me suffer and these the last verses that I write for her.
Review: Art. - I feel like some of these reviews are paid, but that shouldn’t stop you from buying this. My first encounter with Pablo Neruda was through my English textbook and am glad to have brought this. Good poetry make you feel like you’re out of this world and Pablo Neruda’s poems make you feel like you are out of this universe. His poems are ✨erotic✨ and will surely make you blush about your non-existent lovers. He is a simp with great ability to write and this book is 100% worth purchasing. His work must be read with a caution that you may not see the world around you same again, wind-less trees and empty ports will have your brain filled with the essence and memories of your lover and you will surely romanticise everything around you. A beautiful reading.

Coming from Pablo Neruda it cannot be less. But the formatting is a sad counter to the words. Enjoyed the poetry.
