Just taking it out of the package, the threads snag seemingly on fingerprints alone and tangle instantly. They are also static-charged from being in plastic and there is no way to prevent them from knotting within itself. I'd love to work with these beautiful colors, but gave up after trying several times.

Beautiful colors and fantastic shine, but this floss is completely impossible to handle or work with for embroidery. Just taking it out of the package, the threads snag seemingly on fingerprints alone and tangle instantly. These mulberry silk threads have vibrant colours and a beautiful sheen. It is hand dyed and is listed by the manufacturer. If you are new to embroidery or are looking for thread for bracelet making or other crafts, this may not be the right choice. This is not the cotton thread traditionally used in European embroidery or polyester type that comes in cheaper craft and bracelet making kits. Mulberry silk has a reputation of being the highest quality, most durable, natural silk available while also being the softest. If you ever wondered what makes Chinese or Japanese embroidery distinctly different from other types, the use of mulberry silk thread is a large part of the reason. It is a natural material and comes with its own qualities requiring consideration. The individual fibres are fine and threads require more careful handling than cotton threads as they are prone to tangling and snagging, even on the dry skin on your fingers.
