The material is not see through. Its thin enough to allow sunlight through, but thick enough that you dont see your hand through it. Stitching is good. The length is accurate. The curtain is soft enough that I was able to wrap it around the column and fold them together. See the photo to understand. The color pops the darkness of my pergola, but light enough to enhance my outdoor furnishings. The grommets are sturdy and stayed attached to the material as I use fishing line to attach the curtains together to keep them from in place from wind. I cant provide information about waterproof for we are in a drought.
