For example all soil has some contaminants in it and that cannot be avoided sue to various things like pollution, however the soil association gives the title of organic if the grower/producer does not ADD any chemicals in the production, so sea salt being organic is perfectly valid. You could also check out the Soil Association website if you have concerns about organic foods.
