Review: Beautiful surreal climbing flowers - I had absolutely zero problem with growing these, and we named them Greta (she's a creeper, think politics you'll get the joke). They germinated, and with care are currently blooming as of may 23. I did not have to do anything over the top to get them started (pretty easy, especially considering I have been busy this year). They are really cool looking, the vine, and the flowers are sort of surreal (almost like a living painting!). I have had lots of success with Outsidepride seeds, so order with confidence.
Review: Good germination rate - These seeds have the best germination rate of any packaged seed I have purchased. It is still early in the growing season to report on the mature plants. So far so good.

## Features

- VIBRANT & LONG-LASTING BLOOMS: Black-eyed Susan vining plants feature vibrant, 5-petalled flowers with orange petals, and a black center, creating a striking display in any flower bed or fence. These annual flowers bloom at a height of 60-84 inches, during summer to fall, attracting pollinators like bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds.
- DROUGHT-TOLERANT & LOW MAINTENANCE: Thunbergia seeds thrive in low-water conditions, making them perfect for xeriscaping and low-maintenance gardens. This hardy plant adapts well to various soil types and grows in USDA Zones 3-10. Plant seeds at a rate of 3 seeds per location for optimal results, requiring minimal care after establishment.
- HARDY & POLLINATOR FRIENDLY: Blackeyed Susan flower seeds are unpalatable to deer and attracts pollinators such as bees, butterflies, and other beneficial insects. They are perfect for wildlife pollinator gardens and trellises that need long-lasting color while maintaining a healthy and thriving environment.
- HOME GARDEN COVERING: As the black eyed susan vines grow, they develop lush green foliage that, over time, can cover a large surface. The dense growth can create a natural screen, providing privacy and shading, which is particularly useful for fences or walls in gardens or patios. The combination of green foliage and colorful blooms can turn any fence into a stunning visual feature.
- SELF-SEEDING & EASY TO GROW: Thunbergia flower seeds are typically easy to germinate and can be planted in the soil near a fence or wall. Once the plant is well-established, it will naturally grow and spread, forming a lovely cover on vertical surfaces. These low-maintenance flowers grow well in full sun offering vibrant color year after year.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is this a perinnial? Will it come back year after year?**
A: It’s supposed to be an annual. However, I have some other annual vines that drop seeds and sprout everywhere. I didn’t plant these last year, so I can’t be sure.

**Q: Can you grow them in hanging baskets outside on the patio**
A: You can grow it in a hanging basket, but perhaps it will trail on the floor as the vine grows vigorously. I have a 3-year old Thunbergia in a planter with a 5-foot high vertical trellis for support. It has formed a clump at the top despite occasional pruning. It shoots tendrils in all directions. I bought it from a local nursery as I had no luck with seeds.

**Q: should seeds be soaked before planting?**
A: I live in The Valley in California and it was too hot. Mine did not make it. Neither did a plant.

**Q: is it too late to plant thunbegia in Missouri for headstart next year?**
A: No. You can sow seeds indoors 6 to 8 weeks before the average last winter frost. I believe Missouri average last frost is around mid April to mid May. You can use a heated germination tray, available on Amazon etc. to ensure positive results. Germination may take about 10 days to 3 weeks. You can plant the seedlings outdoors when the danger of frost has passed and night temperature is above 50 F.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good germination rate
*by R***R on May 16, 2026*

These seeds have the best germination rate of any packaged seed I have purchased. It is still early in the growing season to report on the mature plants. So far so good.

### ⭐ These did not grow buy another brand.
*by H***E on February 8, 2026*

Do not buy these they do not grow. None of the plants I got from this company grew at all and they did not replace or give me a refund. I thought they were expensive and was really looking forward to having these plants grow but they did not. Service for this particular product is not there they aren't about helping the customer.
